proALPHA expands ERP+ portfolio with comprehensive supplier relationship management (SRM) ecosystem

Weilerbach, November 14, 2023 ‒ The proALPHA Group, one of the leading providers of ERP+ software solutions for the mid-market manufacturing industry, acquires DIG GmbH ("DIG"), responding to the growing customer demand for automated purchasing processes for direct and indirect procurement. DIG especially targets the mechanical and plant engineering industry as well as the automotive, trade and other core industries, offering comprehensive solutions from electronic procurement to automated document flow and invoice receipt through to the complete purchase-to-pay process (P2P). DIG will be merged with curecomp, another proALPHA Group company, which promises a variety of synergy potentials and targeted go-to-market strategies in view of the long-standing partnership and a large shared customer base. Asina Leist, who has been managing curecomp Software Services GmbH, will consequently assume the management of the consolidated company.

With the acquisition of DIG, proALPHA is continuing its strategy of linking best-of-suite with best-of-breed and reinforcing its ERP+ platform with market-leading solutions. With more than 20 years of experience, DIG is the leading expert for cloud solutions in the field of operational purchasing and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for mid-market businesses. The comprehensive purchase-to-pay solution covers all electronic business processes, from ordering to payment, which significantly facilitates the customer's purchasing processes.

Thanks to the procurement platform's extensive functionalities, process costs can be slashed by up to 40 percent, typically resulting in a return on investment within a year.

The incumbent is specialized in the fields of electronic procurement of indirect goods (MRO), invoice processing and EDI data transfer. DIG offers a "Guided Buying" extension that enables the customization of user guidance, tailored to the specific needs of individuals or companies, ensuring adherence to procurement directives ‒ eliminating the need for user training or inquiries to the purchasing department.

Customers want to digitalize and automate purchasing

DIG currently has about 500 customers and more than 30,000 connected suppliers. The DIG data hub links together more than 100,000 users and more than 3,000 companies all over Europe. Every year, the workforce of around 45 people processes an order volume of about five billion euros via the platform. Among its renowned mid-sized and enterprise customers are Fujitsu, Gebrüder WEISS, Kellner & Kunz, Palfinger and Rosenbauer International.

"The significance of procurement for a company's success is continually on the rise. We're hearing this a lot from our customers these days," says Eric Verniaut, CEO of the proALPHA Group. By providing a solution that spans from purchasing to automatic document processing and payment, DIG enhances supply reliability, strengthens partnerships with suppliers, and frees up capacities in strategic purchasing. By merging DIG and curecomp, we create the ideal combination of operative and strategic purchasing."

Operative and strategic purchasing under one roof

DIG's offering is the perfect addition to curecomp's solution. Accordingly, proALPHA has the strategy to merge curecomp and DIG. The long-standing partnership of both companies, a shared customer base and ultimately their geographical proximity in Linz are promising factors for great synergy potentials and a common go-to-market strategy. The goal is to merge the offerings into a comprehensive product world for strategic and operative purchasing. An integral solution for these two areas is currently among the top priorities of many companies.

"DIG's technologies perfectly complement the curecomp portfolio and thus the proALPHA ERP+ solution platform. Both new and existing customers receive a complete and future-proof solution that adds real strategic value in the form of supplier consolidation and development, the bundling of procurement volumes, green sourcing, and also in tasks related to supply chain due diligence (SCDD)," explains Marine Gurzadyan, Chief Corporate Development & Strategy Officer of proALPHA GmbH. "By leveraging the experience and expertise of DIG, we can further enhance our market position and captivate a broader audience with our integrated ERP+ solutions."

"We are very pleased to welcome DIG GmbH to the proALPHA Group. We already know the product very well, have about 50 shared customers and a well-functioning integration. On this basis, we will open up new markets and business potential in the future," says Asina Leist, CEO of curecomp. "By combining the expertise of curecomp and DIG, we are creating one of the leading providers of SRM solutions in the DACH region."
