Proalpha acquires Insiders Technologies and strengthens its position with AI solutions for cognitive process automation
Integration into Proalpha Business Applications makes AI portfolio available to 11,000 enterprise customers
Weilerbach, September 18, 2025 - The Proalpha Group, one of the leading providers of business applications for SMEs, is acquiring Insiders Technologies GmbH (Insiders) and significantly expanding its Industrial AI Platform with leading AI applications and services for digital document processing. In addition to the group companies Nemo and Empolis, Proalpha is thus expanding its AI expertise to 500 experts. At the same time, Proalpha is committed to its roots in its home region and is strengthening its cooperation with leading AI institutes such as the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Fraunhofer Institutes IESE and ITWM and the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University of Kaiserlautern-Landau (RPTU), with which Insiders has been cooperating closely for many years. Customers thus benefit from in-depth AI expertise and pre-packaged AI applications from a single source that are ready for immediate use. The Insiders product portfolio will be deeply integrated into the Proalpha ERP and business applications. At the same time, it will remain available as a standalone offering - optimized for use with third-party systems and in line with Insiders' proven best-of-breed strategy. Closing of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Insiders was founded in 1998 as a spin-off of DFKI. The company, headquartered in Kaiserslautern - in the immediate vicinity of Empolis - is a provider of AI-based solutions for the optimization of document-centric business processes such as intelligent document recognition, automatic data classification and extraction or AI-supported process automation. More than 6,000 customers worldwide from industry and commerce, insurance companies and banks as well as the healthcare and public sectors rely on Insiders' innovative solutions. Well-known customers include Bayern LB, Continental, Debeka, Markant, Phoenix Contact and Thyssenkrupp Materials.
Established partnership and AI as a central strategy
"Insiders has achieved a strong market position with its innovative solutions for cognitive process automation and the use of AI as a key technology," emphasizes Christoph Kull, President Business Applications at the Proalpha Group. "The company also addresses the AI-based automation trends in our customers' target markets and has established itself as a market leader in the application areas of purchase-to-pay automation and mailroom automation for many years. Insiders provides our customers with other business-critical applications that are closely integrated with ERP, such as e-invoicing, some of which are already the legal norm. We can already look back on a long-standing partnership and have been able to build up a trusting relationship between the two companies. We are proud that numerous hidden champions from the manufacturing industry, such as SFB Schwäbische Formdrehteile, GEDA and MULAG Fahrzeugwerk, are among our joint customers."
"The solutions from Proalpha and Insiders are a perfect match and, as integrated AI offerings, will deliver real added value to both existing and new customers," emphasizes Werner Weiss, CEO of Insiders Technologies GmbH. "Complementary target industries also create a promising basis for successful cross-selling. Above all, however, the long-standing partnership has convinced us to now jointly exploit the full potential of the collaboration."
Agentic AI as the next development step
"Companies need to approach the use of AI strategically and purposefully - process by process and business unit by business unit," says Eric Verniaut, CEO Proalpha Group. "Our Proalpha Industrial AI Platform offers a customized set of ready-to-use AI apps that medium-sized industrial companies can use immediately and practically in their business processes along the value chain."
