Electric Aircraft Take Off with proALPHA Business Cloud
ERP for Fast Prototyping up to the Production-Ready Flight Taxi
Lilium want to revolutionize air traffic with an electric flight taxi. For the rapid development of the prototype and the upcoming logistics and management requirements, the start-up relies on the expertise and capability of proALPHA.
Lilium's electric jets are to transport people five times faster than a car. The emission-free, low-noise aircraft are capable of vertical take-off and landing. Last year, the start-up company came very close to its vision of a completely new local transport vehicle with a successful prototype flight. The company has received around 100 million US dollars in investor capital for the next development steps. To keep pace with the rapid growth and to meet the high production and development requirements on the way from prototype to production-ready passenger flight, Lilium was looking for powerful Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) from the cloud.
Fast Selection Process for Scalable ERP from the Cloud
The selection process for the new ERP solution was just as fast as the technological development. After a short-listing process, Lilium invited proALPHA to a presentation in October. The implementation plan, concrete solution approaches and the functionalities of the ERP system immediately convinced the prospective customer, so that proALPHA prevailed over its competitors. The contract for proALPHA from the cloud was signed in November, and the first modules went live at the beginning of 2018.
"proALPHA ERP from the business cloud greatly contributes to the growth of Lilium," says Andree Stachowski, Chief Sales Officer at proALPHA. "The company has found a flexible and scalable solution that supports all processes throughout Purchasing, Logistics, MRP, Project Management, and Financial Accounting. Our ERP system from the cloud prepares them for rapidly growing user numbers as well as for the quick connection of further modules."
Lilium was founded in 2015 by Daniel Wiegand, Sebastian Born, Matthias Meiner and Patrick Nathen during their time as academics at the Technical University of Munich. The group shared the vision of an all-new means of transport. In less than three years, Lilium grew to a company with a team of more than 90 engineers of international repute, which has developed the world's first fully electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL). An estimated range of 180 miles (300km), a travel speed of up to 180 mph (300km/h) and zero emissions make Lilium's aircraft the most efficient and environment-friendly means of transport of our time. www.lilium.com
