proALPHA Keeps Promoting Its Growth with a Second Investor
The ERP software provider proALPHA strengthens its shareholder structure with the international investment company Intermediate Capital Group (ICG). The associate company Bregal remains a shareholder. proALPHA aims to utilize its additional financial resources to further promote its growth and make full use of digitalization in the SME sector.
With ICG and Bregal Unternehmerkapital, proALPHA has two strong, experienced partners at its side who will support the company in internationalizing its business and gaining further market shares. The cooperation of ICG and proALPHA is subject to antitrust approval. "Enterprise resource planning lays the foundation for digitized business processes and is essential for implementing Industry 4.0 strategies," says proALPHA CEO Dr. Friedrich Neumeyer. "proALPHA has a key role in the digital transformation of small and mid-sized enterprises, which we want to advance together with our shareholders." proALPHA purchased the Swiss Codex Group and opened its first subsidiary in China only last year. In the last couple of years, the company has increased its revenue at a speed that is clearly above market average. proALPHA had a turnover of more than 100 million euros in 2016.
ICG is a specialist asset manager with 28 years of experience in this field. The company is based in London and manages assets amounting to approx. 23 billion euros worldwide. The group offers financing solutions across the capital structure, such as equity investments, financing with outside capital, and mezzanine financing. ICG is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has 11 sites worldwide. "The focus on small and mid-sized 'Hidden Champions' will remain the pillar of our growth strategy. We therefore aim to extend our portfolio and strengthen our international presence fast. ICG gives us the financial strength we need to heavily invest in our company's growth," Mr. Neumeyer explains. The renowned business consultant Franz-Josef Seidensticker, who has been chairman of the proALPHA advisory board since the beginning of the year and has cooperated with ICG in other companies, too, will continue to support proALPHA in his current position.
Bregal Unternehmerkapital is part of a family business that has been built up by several generations. The company focuses on long-term investments, particularly in small and mid-sized companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that are leading in their segment.
